We’re Four Months Old Today!

Today marks our official four-month birthday! We celebrated early this weekend with an appearance by the delightful Jordan Smith Graffis (photo above), on hand to sign Cicada Summers. As always, even if you had to miss the party, we had Jordan sign a few copies to leave behind!

So here’s a few fun numbers we’d like to share since our March 1st ribbon cutting:

THIRTY – That’s the number of authors who’ve already appeared for 25 book signing events at Main Street Reads!

SEVENTY-SIX – The number of books we’ve special-ordered for customers. HINT: Looking for a certain book or series – we can usually get your order in the store within three days.

877 – Facebook followers, 91 Instagram followers, and over 1,000 newsletter subscribers… and climbing! (Hint: Sign up below to be added to our list and get updated on new events, special sales and more!)

FOUR – The number of groups at Main Street Reads we’ve set up so far, including THREE book clubs and ONE writers group, PLUS our new Wednesday morning story time in the young readers room with Colleen Rackleff. And yes, we’ll be announcing THREE more book groups this month – stay tuned!

Wednesday morning story time with Colleen Rackleff!

On July 5 Hutchinson Square will host Sounds on the Square, a free concert featuring Sideshow Americans. Hear songs from their upcoming release as well as their debut EP Streetlights, an album steeped in Southeastern string band tradition, delivered in four-part harmony by bassist Whitt Algar, guitarists Ryan Bonner and Dan Wright, and multi-instrumentalist Cory Jarrett.

Main Street Reads is a proud sponsor of July 5th’s Sounds on the Square!

Main Street Reads is one of the proud Summerville Shopkeepers sponsoring this free concert for area residents from 6 – 8 p.m. We’ll have free treats in the shop that evening, and will remain open until after the concert for anyone wanting to stop in and say “hi” and pick up a new summer read.

Then, on July 13, we’ll be hosting author Kathleen Varn for the launch of her second novel, Gardenia Duty! Visit our EVENTS CALENDAR for more details.
