It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like…

There’s just something about the day after Thanksgiving, when the Christmas decorations go up (no, we do NOT put them out before then!), and people begin drifting in, looking for that perfect gift, and someone to wrap it (yes, we do that for free). The mood is festive, folks are cheerful, and even mask-wearing and social distancing hasn’t been able to put a damper on that (but forgive us if we don’t recognize you right away!)

So, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Super Sunday, and Cyber Monday have given us all a reason to shop ’til we drop, whether here in the store or from the cyber-comfort of our favorite lounging spot on the couch. Either way, you can join in the fun!

Some Holiday-ish Items of Note:

Here at Main Street Reads you’ll see things you might not see the rest of the year. Christmas titles, of course, but we also have a few gift items of note, including:

  • Holiday-themed (and toasty warm) socks (my favorite – “Let it Poe,” but “Season’s Readings” is a close second.
  • Harry Potter MinaLima edition (with a free art print in-store only), wicked cool hardcover boxed set, and, for good measure, a Golden Snitch that magically hovers in the air above its base – we couldn’t resist.
  • Christmas ornaments, book-themed, cook-book themed, and teacher-themed, of course!
  • New Lovepop pop-up holiday cards. Hint: “Season’s Grootings” can’t help but put a smile on the face of any Marvel fan…

A Signed Book Makes an
Especially Thoughtful Gift

We have two big signings this weekend, one Saturday and one Sunday. We’re also keeping a supply of some signed favorites of this year, including:

  • Gullah Tears by Josie Olsvig
  • Different by Chris Singleton
  • Stars of Wonder by Rebecca Dwight Bruff
  • Parker the Purple Penguin by Marybeth Wishart

We also have a number of bookplates signed by authors who are unable to travel at the moment but who want to share the book love. Meaning, if you purchase the book here, we have a self-stick bookplate, signed by the author, for you to place inside the book to make it a permanent keepsake piece. Here are the books/authors we currently have book plates for:

And, we have a number of single titles of signed books available, in both hard cover and paperback. Inquire at the store or by phone at 843-875-5171 to have one held for you!
