Check out our book-clubbers checking out the Flowertown Festival. Above, from left to right: Haley, Lisa, Elizabeth and Rhonda!
As Summerville’s streets burst into bloom for the final day of the Summerville Family YMCA Flowertown Festival today, there’s no better time to stroll through Main Street, soak in the sunshine, and enjoy one last day of art, food, and fun among the azaleas. Whether you’re capping off a weekend of festival magic or just getting started, be sure to swing by Main Street Reads to keep the inspiration going!
Here’s what we’ve still got blooming this month:
Monday, April 7 @ 6:30 pm – Main Street Writes LIVE
Writers, unite! Our weekly gathering of local scribes is your chance to connect, create, and get inspired. Bring your latest work and input on others — we’re all about supporting stories in progress.
Wednesday, April 9 @ 9:30 am – Stories on the Square
Little readers rejoice! Every Wednesday morning, we gather on the square for a joyful half-hour of storytelling fun. A perfect way to start the day with giggles, gasps, and great books. This week: Auntie Leslie and Miss Veronica join the fun.
Sunday, April 13 @ 3:00–5:30 pm – Book Signing and Salon with Lisa Weldon
We’re thrilled to welcome Lisa Weldon to the shop for a book signing and discussion of her memoir, Twenty Pieces. Not to be missed! Join us for a free, open-to-all book signing where you can meet Lisa and grab a signed copy of Twenty Pieces — a beautifully honest memoir of reinvention, resilience, and the winding streets of New York City.

Then, beginning at 4:00 p.m., we’ll transition into an exclusive salon-style discussion with the author, complete with wine, special treats, and thoughtful conversation. Only 20 spots are available, so be sure to reserve quickly!
Bonus: The salon will include a unique activity and some truly fantastic takeaways you won’t want to miss. We can’t wait to see you there and join us in this unforgettable afternoon of conversation, and connection as we share: What is something you’d like to accomplish, but have always been afraid to do?
About the Book:
At 58, Lisa faced the collapse of her marriage, home, and career — but instead of crumbling, she chose curiosity. A solo month in Manhattan becomes her classroom, her canvas, and her catalyst for change. This memoir is raw, real, and pulsing with hope — the kind of story that stays with you and begs to be shared.
“Weldon’s journey stands out in the memoir genre by telling the story of a life-changing 30 days rather than a years-long undertaking, inspiring readers to be able to take on their own manageable challenges.” – Publishers Weekly
