Here it comes, our fifth anniversary at Main Street Reads. I still find it hard to believe we’ve been around for five whole years, but honestly, that’s thanks to YOU!
And what a half decade it’s been, eh? We’ve all endured a pandemic. We’ve all suffered plenty of sorrows. In the past five years we’ve lost a dear friend and co-author, my little sister Kiki, my stepmom, and my dad. Most recently we lost another dear friend who was instrumental in helping us set up the store back before we even opened – from flooring to lights, Jim Doucet was our go-to guy, and he’s so missed by all.
But like the tides ebb and flow, we’ve lost loved ones, but we’ve gained some, too. Our son and daughter-in-law gifted us with our first granddaughter in December. We’ve seen our extended families grow with weddings and children on the way. And we’ve welcomed a few more grandnieces and nephews.
And, since we opened our doors on March 1st, 2019, we’ve gained all of you — the community and friendships that breathe life into our little neighborhood bookstore. It’s beyond heartwarming, and an incredible honor, to play even a small part in your lives, and to share in your joys and sorrows. And of course, to share our love of books 🙂
So, while we’re celebrating our fifth birthday this Friday, please know that what we’re genuinely and gleefully celebrating is all of YOU – you’ve enriched each other’s lives –and ours– in more ways than you can know…
And now… here’s what’s coming up (click on each event title to learn more), and we hope to see you at our Friday BDay Bash as we kick off a month of March Book Madness… See y’all on Main Street!
