Lots still coming up in this gorgeous Summerville fall – this week’s featured downtown events include Third Thursday, and Saturday’s Sweet Tea Festival! At the bookstore, we have our Adventures in Reading Kids Club on Monday, Peaceful Mornings quiet reading group on Tuesday morning, and our all-new Kiss & Tell Romance Club on Tuesday evening, in addition to our regular weekly Main Street Writes and Stories on the Square Wednesday morning storytime for the littles.
What We’re Loving This Week
Kelley: I just finished Ivory’s Ruin by Siberia Johnson, and it’s a new favorite for me in the dark romance genre. It has an absolutely swoon-worthy biker book boyfriend, and great representation of BDSM. Great balance of plot and spice. Highly recommended for all the dark romance girlies!
And I’m loving all the fall things right now, from decorating the house, jumping in leaf piles with the kiddos, and planning Halloween costumes.
Kristy: So Thirsty by Rachel Harrison is the perfect book to get you ready for the Halloween season. This is an entertaining, dark, bleak, fast-paced page-turner and a great Vampire thriller from the author. Ultimately, the story was a look at the bonds of a forever friendship and choosing yourself. It was a bloody fun and witty read! I highly recommend it to genre lovers and devoted fans of Rachel Harrison.
And we’re loving the start of football season, both college and NFL. And getting to experience Clemson football! Go Tigers!
Shari: I’m digging into Liane Moriarty’s newly released Here One Moment. So far so great – I’m a huge fan and this is an odd but outlandishly creative concept!
And fall is so enjoyable for so many reasons. A bit cooler and less humid, and our dogs are definitely more lively. Seems like everyone’s step quickens a bit. Also loving our new quiet reading clubs – who knew that an hour of complete silence in the company of fellow readers could be so restorative? It really is!
