Summerville Heads to Texas?

Summerville residents Shari Stauch, co-owner of Main Street Reads, and Kathryn Taylor, author of the Kirkus “Best of 2018” memoir Two Minus One, traveled to Jefferson, Texas this weekend for the 19th annual Pulpwood Queens Girlfriend Weekend, put on by the amazing Pulpwood Queen herself, the talented and inimitable Kathy L. Murphy!

What are the Pulpwood Queens? Picture this: hundreds of book club members from across the country, all gathered in one giant ballroom, geeking out on books for an entire weekend.

Lowcountry celebs also spotted at PQ2019: Bren McClain, author of One Good Mama Bone, the 2018 Bookclub Selection of the Year (formerly of Charleston, now hangs her cowboy hat in Nashville, TN); Jonathan Haupt, director of the Pat Conroy Literary Center in Beaufort, SC, and Nicole Seitz, Mt. Pleasant, SC based author of seven novels including her most recent amazing release, The Cage Maker.

Main Street Reads will be featuring a Pulpwood Queens display of the famous books selected each year for the book club. And heads-up – we may have a surprise visit for you from Kathy in the near future… So make sure you sign up for our news and updates below!
