As July begins, we’re kicking off the month with a very special author event, another exciting round of our Summer Readers Are Leaders Challenge, and a full calendar of book clubs, storytimes, and magical celebrations ahead. Before the holiday arrives, though, don’t forget one important date:
π June Reading Challenge Logs Due June 30!
If you’re participating in our Summer Readers Are Leaders Reading Challenge, don’t forget that all June reading logs must be turned in by Tuesday, June 30, at 6 p.m.
The good news? The challenge continues all through July and August, so if you haven’t joined us yet, there’s still plenty of time to participate.

Calling all writers! Our Main Street Writes group meets virtually every Monday evening from 6:30β8:30 p.m.
πΈ Meet Author Carol Van Den Hende This Friday!
Join us on Friday, July 3, from 3β5 p.m. as we welcome award-winning author Carol Van Den Hende to Main Street Reads to celebrate her beautiful new release, Dear Orchid.
This free event is open to everyone, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet Carol, hear about the inspiration behind her work, and pick up signed copies of her beloved Orchid series. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon surrounded by great stories and great company.

July is packed with book clubs, family fun, and plenty of reasons to visit downtown Summerville!
A few highlights include:
π July 1: Wednesday Stories on the Square returns at 9:30 a.m., followed by the launch of Month Two of our Summer Readers Are Leaders Challenge.
π¦ July 7: Silent Nights: Quiet Reading Club gathers for another peaceful evening of books, quiet companionship, and community. Registration is free but required.
π¦ July 9: Our Fab Fantasy Club dives into The Unicorn Hunters by Katherine Arden.
β¨ July 13: The newly launched Page Turners YA Club discusses She Drinks the Light by Yasmin Angoe.
π July 14: Thrill in the ‘Ville tackles Rebecca Sharpe’s twisty thriller Harmless Women.
π July 16: Third Thursday brings Christmas in July to downtown Summerville with shopping, treats, and festive fun.
β€οΈ July 21: Romance readers will gather for Beneath Still Waters by Linny Mack, while our younger readers journey to the Underworld with Styx and Stones at Adventures in Reading.
π July 28: Books & Banter explores Yesteryear, a thought-provoking and witty novel that’s sure to spark lively discussion.
β‘ And, of course, on July 31, we’re celebrating Harry Potter’s birthday with two magical timeslots, more treats, more scavenger hunts, and more wizarding fun than ever before! Registration is required, and every attendee will receive a $5 gift card upon arrival.
As always, our events are free and open to all unless otherwise noted, and all our book club selections are available at 10% off for participants.
