Happy Independence Week!

As an independent bookstore, we love any holiday with independence in it, so a Happy Independence Day to all this week! Whatever your party plans, stay cool and hydrate – it’s looking to be toasty…

Oh – and for you wordsmiths out there, don’t forget that Monday is our first July meeting of Main Street Writes, which means we’ll be LIVE at the store. Come on out for some camraderie and sharing.

Main Street Reads Team Recommends…

Hannah Rose: I’m reading The Haunted Bookshop by Christopher Morley. Outside the store, I can highly recommend Summerville Nutrition (the best pick-me-up drinks ever!).

Makayla: I’m reading The Summer of Broken Rules by KL Walther, a really fun read. When I’m not at the bookstore I’m enjoying antiquing (everywhere and anywhere). It’s always fun to find a treasure, even when it’s not a book!

Kristy: This week, I’ve been enjoying When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker, a fantasy with all the emotions. And for those of you locals looking for an evening out, La Rustica on Magnolia is offering up amazing rustic Italian cuisine and the perfect atmosphere, just one more place that makes us adore Summerville.

Kelly: There’s no better way to cool off during these hot summer days than in the pool, so that’s where I’ve been. Reading in the pool, to be more specific! This week, it’s Vicious Secret by Morgan Bridges. Plenty of action and adventure to be had in this contemporary romance.

Shari: I had the opportunity to take a mini-break with the family this past week and do a bit of light hiking at Yosemite. So, in between, I’ve been finishing up The Titanic Survivors Book Club. I love the time period and the quirky characters.
