Thrill in the ‘Ville and Silent Nights This Week

It’s been a week. But amidst “all that” we’ve enjoyed last weekend’s Timrod Fall Fest; a peaceful Silent Nights quiet reading evening (another is on for this week – see details below); and our Fab Fantasy book club.

We even had the chance to check out some events at the Charleston Literary Festival! My personal favorite – hearing the fascinating stories of Chris Whitaker and the path he took to write the incredible All the Colors of the Dark, which we’ll be discussing this Tuesday at our Thrill in the ‘Ville book club. I loved this book. It’s been optioned for a series and I hope that comes to fruition; it’s a story we wanted to live in long after turning the final page…

And now we look forward. Because yes, there’s still plenty to look forward to as we plunge headlong into this year’s holiday season, including so many wonderful reads to lift our moods or just provide some much-needed escape from the day-to-day, right?

This week, we begin with Monday’s Main Street Writes, followed by Tuesday evening’s Thrill in the Ville book club, and Wednesday morning’s Stories on the Square for our littlest readers.

On Wednesday, join fellow night owls under the gentle hush of a quiet evening at our Silent Night’s Reading Club—a gathering as still as it is inviting, where words are the only sounds and time slows to the turning of pages.

Please commit HERE only if you’re certain to attend, or consider our First Tuesday meeting instead (happening next on December 3rd). We look forward to reading alongside you in quiet companionship.

And on Friday, enjoy our later hours with our “Friday Night Lits,” as we stay open ’til 8 p.m. every Friday from now through the end of the year. This holiday season, keep it simple. Shop indie, shop local, and give the gift of stories that matter.

Finally, I encourage you all to sign up early for our last ticketed signing of the season, An Evening of Legends Signing with Signe Pike.

Make it a night out: Show your store receipt next door at Frothy Beard Brewery for 10% off your check and enjoy a great evening of books and brews with friends. HINT: Trivia starts at Frothy Beard that evening at 7 pm!

But first, let Signe take you on a journey through legend, heroism, and the ancient lands of the Picts. Her Lost Queen series is already optioned for television and praised as “mystical, epic, and captivating” (Hazel Gaynor, NYT bestselling author). Don’t miss your chance to meet Signe and escape into this incredible world!
