Here’s what we at Main Street Reads are loving right now, and what’s coming up for all of you… we can’t wait to see you on Main Street!
But first – my favorite pic of the week – young seven-year-old Anna came in with her dad this weekend sporting a shirt we all wanted, proudly proclaiming “My Weekends are All Booked.” Heard, Miss Anna, heard!
Kelley: I’m reading Belladonna by Adalyn Grace- I’m finally getting around to this series after seeing the stunning cover of the third that recently came out. So far it is beautifully written and remarkably unique. I love the characters and have no idea where the story is headed, which is a nice change for me.
When not reading, we’re enjoying- s’mores by the fire pit now that there is just a hint of fall in the air!
Kristy: Just finished reading Born of Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I loved this epic conclusion to Sera and Ash’s story. It is everything we could have asked for and more. The story picks up exactly where the last one left off. The book has it all – romance, adventure, humor, and everything we have come to love about this world. You definitely do not want to miss this epic conclusion to their story before we enter the final books of Blood and Ash!
Outside of great books, I’m enjoying the fall scents and flavors like pumpkin spice lattes, apple/pumpkin candles, and pumpkin and apple pastries.
Emma June: Seems everything I read lately is about my other work in the health care field, but this one is really interesting – The Song of the Cell. If you’re a non-fiction reader, you’ll find it fascinating as well.
When not reading… well, contemplating a puppy after seeing a gorgeous one available in downtown today. A lot of work? Probably. A lot of adorable? Definitely!
Shari: I went back to my TBR pile to dig into a read from last year I hadn’t gotten to (it’s a big pile, just sayin’). The Lost Bookshop by Evie Wood is delightful so far… she had me at a lost bookshop waiting to be found.
September’s cooler days have us enjoying the beach, a little pickleball, football, and more cooking. Something about fall always makes me want to cook or bake. Today it’ll be a peach cobbler with some beautiful freestone peaches we grabbed at the Summerville farmer’s market yesterday. As Rachel Ray would say, “Yummo!”
