Flattening the Curve
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today announced 1,291 new confirmed cases and 12 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, and 10 additional confirmed deaths.
In our county alone, as of 12:00 PM yesterday, SCDHEC estimates the true number of cases in Dorchester County to be upwards of 2,777. These numbers will continue to rise if we don’t remain vigilant and stop the spread of germs.
How WE Can Stop the Spread
This direct from DHEC: “Evidence is increasing about the high rates of infection in people who do not have symptoms and don’t know they are infectious. This places everyone at risk of getting the virus or unknowingly transmitting it to someone else. Steps we can take to protect ourselves and others include:
- Practicing social distancing
- Wearing a mask in public
- Avoiding group gatherings
- Regularly washing your hands
- Staying home if sick

Mobile Testing Sites
Dorchester County and Fetter Health have partnered to offer more local testing sites, including:
- Testing will be available between the hours of 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM today, June 25 at Faith Assembly of God located at 3001 Landing Parkway, North Charleston.
- Testing will be available between the hours of 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Friday, June 26 at Old Fort Baptist Church located at 10505 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Each site will be accessible for walk-up and drive-thru testing. Note: These are diagnostic/viral testing sites only. They will not be testing for antibodies. To avoid a long wait time please visit FetterCOVID19Screening.org or call 1-800-365-7410 to be pre-screened and have your code ready when you arrive at a testing site.
