It’s Our 7th Birthday! And…That’s a Wrap on the Summerville Book Festival!

What a weekend.

The second annual Summerville Book Festival filled our beautiful town with stories, conversation, laughter, packed stages, and the kind of bookish joy that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. From our marquee events at the Flowertown Players Theatre, to free community stages across town, we saw folks having a “lit” time.

Watch our socials as today and tomorrow we’ll be posting plenty of pics – look for #summervillebookfestival 🙂 And…

To every author who traveled here and shared your words…
To our moderators, emcees, and panelists who led thoughtful, dynamic conversations…
To our incredible staff and volunteers who worked cheerfully and tirelessly behind the scenes…
To our vendors and community partners who helped make the weekend special and seamless…
And to YOU — our readers — who showed up, bought books, filled seats, asked questions, stood in signing lines, and proved once again that Summerville is a literary town…

We thank you. Truly. 💛

Today We Turn SEVEN!

As if festival weekend wasn’t enough — today, March 1, is our 7th Birthday at Main Street Reads! Seven years of stories, book clubs, author visits and special events – it’s hard to believe and yes, it’s gone by in a blink!

Join us for our Birthday Bash from 4:00–5:30 pm at the store (115 S. Main Street). We’ll celebrate the only way we know how — with books, treats, and the best community around. And at 5 pm, we’ll award 7 $50 gift certificates to the seven readers wearing the most Mardis Gras beads collected during our Books & Beads challenge.

Come grab a Mardis Gras mask, a bite of birthday cake, and a photo with fellow readers. We hope you’ll pop in and raise a toast to seven wonderful years — and many more ahead.

🕛 Store Hours Update

Please note: We will open at NOON on Thursday due to a private morning event. Thank you for your flexibility!

From Festival Weekend to Year Seven

If this weekend reminded us of anything, it’s this:

  • Books bring people together.
  • Stories create connection.
  • Independent bookstores matter.

We are so grateful you choose to make Main Street Reads part of your lives. Here’s to turning the page into Year Eight — together.

See you at 4 pm. 🎉📚
