Booksigning: Herbie Goes to School by Sherrika Myers

It’s the culmination of the Sweetest Week Ever in Summerville and before the festival begins Saturday afternoon, we have a sweet signing for families: Children’s book author Sherrika Myers will be joining us to sign copies of the newly released Herbie Goes to School!

Herbie’s family has moved to another state, and bought a new home, and now Lil Herbie must go to a new school. He’s afraid to make new friends and doesn’t want to go. He fears all the kids will laugh at him because he stutters, but he finally goes to school, and soon he realizes it is not as bad as he thought.

The thing that you often fear the most turns out to be just in your own mind. Whatever kids are dealing with, whether it be stuttering, low self-esteem, or anything else, each child’s voice matters, and they should always know they are special too. Herbies Goes to School is book two in the Lil Herbie Series, aimed at children ages 4-10.

Sherrika Myers is the founder of Every 1 Voice Matters, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designed to help children break down communicative and social barriers, such as stuttering, bullying, and low self-esteem, to improve their quality of life.
