CONGRATS Teacher of the Week:
We’re proud that there are several teachers we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks for our Teacher of the Week program. This week we’re honoring Ms. Erin Cox from Dubose Middle School, nominated by fellow teacher Amanda Birchmeier!
Said Amanda in her nomination, “Erin is always helping her students and colleagues reach their full potential. She is always looking for fun, innovative ways to engage her students in the classroom!”
From all of us at Main Street Reads, THANK YOU for everything you do!
To Mask or Not to Mask:
That Is the Question
If I could not hear the words mask, Covid or vaccine on any single day, I’d be a happy camper. But a heads-up – yes, the CDC changed its recommended guidelines this week and is saying VACCINATED customers can shop indoors w/out their masks. There’s nothing I’d like better (the mask seriously fogs up my glasses!) but not so fast.
Our staff is NEARLY all vaccinated, but not quite (We’ll be at 100% by June 5th). Until then, to keep you and our wonderful booksellers safe, we’re going to continue to ask you to wear masks inside the store. After that date, we can invite vaccinated customers to be inside without their masks, if they so choose. We’ll request that non-vaccinated folks keep their masks up to protect themselves and fellow non-vaxxed readers.
We’re also giving out free wristbands to those who want to proudly proclaim “I got my vaccine to beat Covid-19.” We have them in men’s and women’s sizes, in blue and white – stop by and pick one up!
