Ah, at last, the first day of spring and hopefully the spring showers will give way to some sunshine and a fine rescheduled Books and Blossoms Third Thursday this week! Lot’s to share today, so let’s get at it:
A Great Day with Chris Singleton!
What a fun time we had with author and speaker Chris Singleton yesterday. His new book was a hit at our spectacular Stories on the Square. We’re grateful he could join us on his whirlwind tour schedule and look forward to having this wonderful author back again soon. Here’s a few fun pics from the day, courtesy of ace photographer LaVonda Downard! (View a full album of pics on our Facebook page)
Teacher of the Week!
We’ve officially launched our Teacher of the Week program and this week we’re honoring Ms. Nicole Register from Eagle Nest Elementary School, nominated by fellow teacher Ms. Megan Hartley.
Said Megan in her nomination, “Mrs. Register is a dedicated teacher who regularly goes above and beyond for her students and colleagues. She organized a fundraiser in order to send a book home with all of her students once a month. Mrs. Register not only teaches kids, she also teaches adults as we struggle to navigate through the new technology COVID-19 has forced us to learn.”
From all of us at Main Street Reads, THANK YOU for everything you do!
