A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us this past Thursday for our Southern Literary Legends event with Karen White and Mary Alice Monroe.
What a spectacular evening—your energy, questions, and enthusiasm made it a truly memorable night. We were honored to host these beloved authors and thrilled to share their newest works with such a vibrant, book-loving crowd. There’s truly no cooler place to be than in the company of engaged readers!
Then, on Saturday, we had the distinct honor of helping to debut Senator Tim Scott’s new book (One Nation Always Under God) at a private gathering hosted by New Covenant Church. Before his remarks, Senator Scott stopped by Main Street Reads for a few photos—and even signed a handful of copies! Keep an eye out: autographed editions will officially release in-store on August 5th!
But the fun is far from over…
We’re closing out July with a bang—or should we say a flick of a wand? Don your robes and grab your broomsticks because this Thursday, July 31st from 6–8 pm, it’s time to celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday at Main Street Reads! Expect themed treats, a magical scavenger hunt, face painting, free gifts, and of course, Sorting Hat ceremonies for all ages. This event is free and open to everyone—bring the whole family for some spellbinding fun!
July 31st is also deadline day for the second month of our Readers Are Leaders Summer Reading Challenge. Log sheets must be dropped off by 8 pm that evening – winners will be announced in next Sunday’s newsletter!
