Martha Jaworowski will join us on the children’s stage at Hutchinson Square (9:30 – 11:30) reading from her popular “At First Sight” books, including Sports at First Sight, Trucks at First Sight and her newest, Animals at First Sight!

Trucks at First Sight is a children’s counting book filled with brilliant illustrations which combine art and trucks to fuel a child’s passion for numbers and learning. The dazzling illustrations leave young readers (and their caretakers) yearning to turn the pages as they search the patterned drawings for the next set of trucks. Trucks at First Sight features a variety of childrens’ favorite vehicles: scooping excavators, churning mixers, puttering tractors, and many more.
Like the first book in the “At First Sight” collection, Sports at First Sight is a children’s counting book filled with brilliant illustrations which combine art, patterns, and sports of all types to fuel a passion for numbers and learning. This book features galloping racehorses, rolling golf balls, curving baseballs, and many other athletes and gear for children to search for, find, and count.

ANIMALS AT FIRST SIGHT is a children’s counting book filled with brilliant illustrations that combine art, patterns, and animals of different species to fuel a passion for numbers and learning. This book features cruising camels, leaping dolphins, slithering snakes, and many other animals for children to search for, find, and count.
Additional counting / spatial organization activities at the back of the “At First Sight” books feature:
- A wide variety of trucks, sports or animals (depending on the book!)
- Counting, with a search and find twist
- Bright colors and interesting patterns
- Simple sentence structure for early literacy
- Full glossary (with images) of topical terms

Martha Jaworowski is an illustrator, author, and graphic designer. She is known for the ‘At First Sight’ collections of books, including Trucks at First Sight and Sports at First Sight.
She didn’t always love trucks, but she does love color, design, art, and playing with her kids. She spent years designing books and marketing collateral for architects. Later, as a stay at home mom of two young boys, she was inspired to create artwork for them featuring their favorite vehicles. A few pixels later, a book was born.
Martha currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her family. She enjoys playing (anything), taking pictures (of reluctant children), the beach (at low tide), and naps.
