Yep, National Reading Month is here! Whether you’re looking for your next favorite book (or two ), or want to encourage your kids or friends to grab a book, we’re here to help you find the perfect read. Let’s celebrate a whole month dedicated to getting lost in stories, discovering new worlds, and falling in love with books all over again.
It’s also Women’s History Month, which means you’ll be seeing plenty of focus on women’s history and influential women authors throughout the bookstore. Come on out and celebrate the contributions they’ve made, beginning with our book club picks for the month, ALL featuring women authors, including Tuesday’s Thriller pick: A Killing Cold by Katie Alice Marshall; our upcoming kid’s pick, Will’s Race for Home by Jewell Parker Rhodes; the Kiss & Tell romance club’s The Deep End by Ali Hazelwood and our Books & Banter pick, Three Days in June by Anne Tyler.

Orwellian? Could Be…
The idea that banks could remove someone’s access to Apple Pay, PayPal, or other nonbank financial institutions because the government doesn’t like their point of view would have a chilling effect on free speech. It’s right up there with book banning, which is why I’m giving this topic a little space this week.
Because yes, that is a resolution in Congress right now, and we the people have an opportunity to weigh in.
You can reach out to your U.S. House Representative and urge them to vote NO on Resolution 64, which would make debanking for ideological reasons legal. (Debanking means a financial institution can deny or revoke banking services to a customer, often due to the customer’s political or social views.)
There will be a hearing on this resolution on March 11, so it’s critical to speak out now. You can CLICK HERE to quickly email your lawmaker, and the form link will send it for you and confirm – takes 30 seconds for some lasting impact…
