Thrill in the ‘Ville!

Book Club Meeting Tonight:

Thrill in the ‘Ville: For mystery and thriller readers, we’ll meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, and we’re inviting you to weigh in TONIGHT between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. with your choices of books for the next several months. We’ll have suggestions if you like, but this will be an open group and so the choices will ultimately be up to you!

Once books are selected, we’ll order some so you can get a Main Street Reads book club discount! If you prefer to change the dates/times of the monthly meetings, the group can decide that as well – we’re here for YOU!

Third Thursday Thrillers

Get ready for a Thriller Third Thursday! Authors Sean Keefer (a Charleston attorney who writes the Noah Parks legal thriller series: The Solicitor and The Trust), and Lawrence Thackston (Orangeburg writer of mystery-thrillers The Devil’s Courthouse, Tidal Pools and Carolina Cruel), will be at Main Street Reads for Third Thursday this month.

Both authors’ titles will be available for purchase and to be signed personally by the authors. A perfect opportunity to grab those last-minute Father’s Day gifts!

Keeping it cool as always will be guitarist/singer/songwriter Michael Kaltofen, so come on out and enjoy Summerville’s monthly blockbuster block party… we look forward to you dropping in, June 20, 5-8 p.m.

Main Street Writes!

For the inner writer in all of us, we’ve set up a Monday evening writers group that kicked off last night and WOW do we have some local talent!

Come on out every Monday at 6:30 p.m. and bring a few pages with you to share with friends, or email your words in advance to us at mainstreetreads@gmail.com (up to 1,000 is about right) and we’ll print copies for the group.

This is an open group and will provide a safe space to get constructive but loving feedback on your words, so don’t be shy!

Just Keep Swimming!

Thanks to Jackie Morfesis for being here Saturday morning with her newly released Mermaid Crossing (photo above shows Jackie with her publisher Robert who made a special trip to attend!). Guests were treated to Jackie’s wisdom, along with plenty of fresh fruit and fresh conversation.

Thanks to all who attended and as always, if you couldn’t get here, we kept some copies and had ’em signed by the author!
