SUMMARY:Old Time Summerville Christmas Celebration!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2020 Old Time Summerville Christmas Celebration event on Tuesday\, December 1 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. This event will be a modified version of the Town’s traditional tree lighting ceremony. We’ll have treats at Main Street Reads of course\, as will many of our neighbors: \nIn an effort to provide a safe event that does not promote gathering the town will forego the ceremony and countdown of the tree lighting. This year the tree will be lit prior to the event starting. Attendees will be able to stop by anytime during the event to see the lights\, enjoy the tree\, and take photos! \n\n\nThe South Carolina Department of Commerce requires attendees over the age of 3 to wear masks at the event and practice social distancing.\n\nPictures with Santa (Hutchinson Square Bandstand): 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.\nBring your cameras and smiles for socially distant pictures with Santa. The line will close at 7:30 p.m.\n\nLive Window Displays (Various Streets – Map will be Provided): 5:30 – 8 p.m.\nA variety of downtown businesses will prepare gorgeous live displays in their store windows for the public to view and vote on. Below are the businesses that are currently confirmed to participate (list updated as businesses are confirmed):\nHippie Soul – 120 Central Ave.\nFour Green Fields – 117 Central Ave.\nPeople\, Places & Quilts – 129 W. Richardson Ave.\nSweetwater 123 & 123 Etc. – 123 W. Richardson Ave.\nFly Modern Apparel -114 Richardson Ave.\nLowcountry Olive Oil – 103D S. Main St\nHanebrink Jewelers – 112 S. Main St.\nNailed it DIY – 116 S. Main St.\nMain St. Reads – 115 S. Main St.\nEva’s On Main – 129 S. Main St.\nEverything Chic – 126 S. Main St.\n\nHoliday Craft at the Public Works Art Center (135 W. Richardson Ave.) 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.\nAs you walk around and check out the live window displays\, stop by the Public Works Art Center for a creative holiday art activity.\n\nLetters to Santa – (Short Central Ave): 5:30 – 8 p.m.\nThe mailbox and letter writing station will be located on Short Central Ave.\n\nGrab Dinner (Downtown Summerville Restaurants & Food Trucks on Little Main St.) 5:30 – 8 p.m. Visit one of our downtown restaurants or choose from a few food trucks and enjoy dinner at the event.
